Day 43 - April 6, 2010 - Coast to Coast

From the Captain:

Left Merrysville real early this morning to beat the heat and rode fairly fast with a tail wind until 5 miles where we turned east and started getting a strong cross/head wind. We were hoping to get in 80 miles to get to a camp ground but by 3:oo we had only gotten in 57 miles so we decided to start looking for some alternatives for the night. None of them seemed good so we decided to stay at a motel in Oberlin. Carol was real nervous about that because the newly weds that we had met a couple of nights ago had told us a horror story about checking into a motel that was infested with bed bugs. When we drove up to the motel we saw a sign about a free shuttle to the "casino". Asked around and drove 5 miles to the casino and they had a great RV resort. Everything turned out great except we didn't win anything. We put in 57.5 miles which brings out total to 1999 miles. We would have ridden one more mile if we knew we were that close to passing the 2/3 point!
