From the Captain:
60% chance of rain, 20-35 mph winds, tired legs (really tired after 12 straight days of riding) and we had to spend time with Terry and Amy ( minus Amy, she had to go be with her mother who is battling cancer). So we took the whole day off and it felt good to recover a bit.
Terry and Amy are biking friends that we met on a tour in Colorado over Vail pass. They are good friends and we haven't seen them in quite a few years. They are getting ready to retire in January and are starting to build their retirement home in the hill country around Austin. We spent some time going over their plans. Had dinner and drove back to Navasota to start riding in the morning.

Wow! The Vail Pass - you'll have to tell us all about that trip - I can't even imagine riding that on a bike. And how cool is it that you met new friends there and then get to visit them now.
