Impressions from the Captain: Woke up to our water line frozern. We were told the low would be 37 degrees but with the clear sky, it dropped well below that. Luckily nothing broke, but the first thing I had to do was get the hose unfrozen.
Had to work on the bike chains before we could start our day. They had started to rust and wore badly because of riding 2 days in the rain. We had decided to only ride 38 miles because of our late start. We hadn't ridden 3 miles when we got our 6th flat. So frustrated because our Kevlar tires should stop punctures that cause flats.
The ride into Fort Davis and to AlPine, TX was absolutely gorgeous. This has to be the prettiest part of Texas (at least what we have seen so far). We took so many pictures that we weren't sure we get to Alpine before dinner.
Thank you to Pecan Grove RV Park, Alpine, TX, 432-837-7175, for their generous discount to support our cause.
